Leviatán FC is a professional soccer club from Mexico City that competed in the Liga Premier Serie A of the Mexican Second Division. The team was founded in November 2020 by a group of businessmen who had previously worked with Club Mayas, with the intention of developing a new, high-impact sports project in Mexican soccer.
From its inception, the club attracted attention for its visual identity, modern image, and the nickname “La Bestia” (The Beast), quickly becoming one of the most recognizable teams in the league. In 2021, it was officially confirmed as a participant in the Liga Premier Serie A and made its professional debut on September 19 of that year. Its first victory came on October 13, 2021, after defeating Escorpiones FC in a thrilling match.
The club primarily played its matches at the Jesús Martínez “Palillo” Stadium, located in the Magdalena Mixhuca Sports Complex in Mexico City, although it also occasionally used the historic Neza 86 Stadium, a venue that even hosted matches during the 1986 World Cup.
Throughout its history, Leviatán FC sought to establish itself as an innovative project within Mexican football, focusing on player development and a sports brand with a strong media presence. However, various financial and institutional problems hampered the team’s growth during its final seasons. Ultimately, in June 2023, the club was suspended by the Liga Premier due to non-compliance with administrative and sporting obligations, ceasing to participate in official competitions. It was not subsequently reinstated for the following seasons.
